To destigmatize mental illness while spreading awareness and providing resources to aid in recovery and rehabilitation.
VISION
The vision for this project is to hold a space that is safe for vulnerability and open expression. It aims to tear down false egos that were built on shame and fear in order to create ones that are informed and compassionate. We intend to expand and reach all parts of North America to connect people coast to coast.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Any viewer can find a way to relate to the subject matter. Most people either struggle with mental health themselves or know someone who does. People can be struggling with mental illnesses without even knowing that they are suffering from a diagnosable condition. To know and understand someone’s mental illness is to have the capacity to navigate communication with them in a way that is safe and effective.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Hello, my name is Adriana Davila. I am currently a Journalism student at Cal State LA; aiming to graduate this year. I decided to create this organization to interconnect people and make them feel more seen and understood. A huge shortcoming in the experience of having a mental health disorder is the unavoidable feeling that your symptoms, the way you think and experience them, are unbenounced to others. I myself suffer from mental illness and know what it’s like to feel as if you’re losing your battle. The idea of the mariposa, or ‘butterfly’, is crucial to the vision of this organization. It’s about blind faith and entering into an experience without judgment. In the multi-media throughput this site, you can enter into this project blindly to transform your mindset into something unforeseen and beautiful.
